Measure is a not-for-profit arts organisation that aims to inspire a passion for art, architecture and history.Through our collaborative commissions we encourage artists to challenge their own practice and evolve new ways of working.
Installing our exhibitions in old underground stations, music halls church crypts and hidden spaces enables artists to create truly inventive and atmospheric art works, the relationship between artist and space being of primary importance. In dealing directly with the context of the space, the exhibitions also offer a fully immersive, engaging and unique experience for the visitor.
Measure collaborate with partner organisations for each project to research the history of each building and produce a range of outreach actvities to local schools and community groups. Partnerships with organisations such as English Heritage, Museum of London, The London Transport Museum and Camden Council help our projects reach broad audiences, enabling them to explore new ways of experiencing and engaging with art.
Details of our expanding program of shows and information about current
projects can be found in the news section.
Simon Day and Jon Scott formed Measure in March 2000 in the Old Coffee
House on Beak Street over a pair of pints..
